Kinematic Calibration of a Three Degrees-of-Freedom Parallel Manipulator With a Laser Tracker
Journal of Dynamic Systems Measurement, and Control, 2018Kinematic calibration is commonly used to improve the accuracy of a parallel mechanism. This paper presents an effective method for calibrating an overconstrained three degrees-of-freedom parallel manipulator employing a direct kinematic model.

Surface metrology using laser trackers
SPIE Proceedings, 2005During the process of manufacture or measuring large components, position and orientation are needed thus; a method based in surveying the surface can be used to describe them. This method requires an ensemble of measurements of fixed points whose coordinates are unknown. Afterwards resulting observations are manipulated to determinate objects position

Laser tracker metrology for UAV-based antenna measurements
IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications, 2018Exact position data of measured electromagnetic field components is one of the key requirements to obtainhigh-quality antenna radiation pattern. Due to the nature of flying Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or drones this data needs to be measured in a quasi ...

Laser tracker position optimization
2014This article presents a laser tracker position optimization code based on the tracker uncertainty model developed by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). The code is able to find the optimal tracker positions for generic measurements involving one or a network of many trackers, and an arbitrary set of targets.

Automatic Eye Tracker for Excimer Laser Photorefractive Keratectomy
Journal of Refractive Surgery, 1995ABSTRACT Acute overlapping of successive laser pulses onto the cornea during photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is important to avoid refractive distortions. Most excimer laser systems performing corneal ablation lack control of the patient's eye movements and they cannot track the target corneal zone.

Dynamic performance evaluation of 6D laser tracker sensor
Proceedings of the 10th Performance Metrics for Intelligent Systems Workshop, 2010In this paper, several methods are presented for the evaluations of 6D sensor dynamic performances, including linear method and rotational method. These methods evaluate a sensor's translational and rotational characteristics under dynamic operations and have been successfully employed in the evaluations of the 3D and 6D sensor products of API.

Operational features of the Leica laser tracker
IEE Seminar Business Improvement Through Measurement, 1999Leica's laser tracker can follow a moving retro-reflector, measuring its 3D position 1000 times a second. This single sensor device can achieve accuracies of 10s of microns and has a maximum range of some 35 m. It is increasingly used in manufacturing industry as a flexible and accurate large scale coordinate measuring system, for example to inspect ...
