Metabolites of Lasiodiplodia theobromae
Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1971A plant-growth inhibitor produced by Lasiodiplodia theobromae has been shown to be jasmonic acid (Ia). Six other new fungal metabolites have been isolated from L:theobromae—lasiodiplodin (Va), de-O-methyl-lasiodiplodin (Vb), cis-4-hydroxymellein (XIIIa), indole-3-carboxylic acid, 3-formylindole, and ethyl hydrogen fumarate.

Light effects on Lasiodiplodia theobromae metabolome cultured in vitro
Metabolomics, 2023The present work identified and compared intracellular metabolites and metabolic networks in mycelial cultures of Lasiodiplodia theobromae grown under 12 natural light and 24 hours' dark using a 1 H NMR-based metabolomics approach.Fungal cultures were grown in potato dextrose media, and metabolites were extracted by sonication with sodium phosphate ...

Endophthalmitis after Lasiodiplodia theobromae corneal abscess
Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1997Lasiodiplodia theobromae is an exceptional cause of human keratomycosis. We treated a 53-year-old man with fungal keratitis, which had been treated with topical betamethasone and gentamicin for 1 month, and endophthalmitis due to Lasiodiplodia theobromae.

Novel Resorcinol Derivatives from Lasiodiplodia theobromae [PDF]
Abstract Two novel resorcinol derivatives were isolated from the mycelium of Lasiodiplodia theobromae IFO 31059 as potato micro-tuber inducing compounds. Their structures were established by spectroscopic methods as ethyl (6′R)-2,4-dihydroxy-6-(6′-hydroxyheptyl)benzoate (8) and isobutyl (6′R)-2.4-dihydroxy-6-(6′-hydroxyheptyl)benzoate ...

Lasiodiplodia theobromae onychomycosis among agricultural workers: A case series
Journal of Medical Mycology, 2021Lasiodiplodia theobromae is a dematiaceous non-dermatophyte mold (NDM), rarely reported to cause onychomycosis. Here, we report three cases of toenail onychomycosis caused by L. theobromae in agricultural workers. Two patients presented with total dystrophic onychomycosis and one with distal and lateral subungual onychomycosis.

Colonization of cashew plants by Lasiodiplodia theobromae: Microscopical features
Micron, 2011Lasiodiplodia theobromae is a phytopathogenic fungus causing gummosis, a threatening disease for cashew plants in Brazil. In an attempt to investigate the ultrastructural features of the pathogen colonization and its response to immunofluorescence labeling, light, confocal and electron microscope studies were conducted on different severity scale ...

Lasiodiplodia theobromae Keratitis: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Mycopathologia, 2012A case report and review of literature is reported of a rare case of fungal keratitis from eastern India. A 32-year-old woman with a history of vegetative trauma presented with keratitis in left eye. Microbiological examination of corneal scraping showed refractile hyphae with aseptate branching filaments and black pigmented colonies on multiple solid ...

Lasiodiplodia theobromae panophthalmitis.
Canadian journal of ophthalmology. Journal canadien d'ophtalmologie, 1986Lasiodiplodia theobromae is a rare ocular pathogen. We report a case of panophthalmitis caused by this fungus. The patient was a healthy 62-year-old janitor with no history of ocular trauma in whom keratitis developed. Cultures of corneal scrapings identified the fungus.
