First Report of Lasiodiplodia theobromae Causing Fruit Crown Rot on Banana in Ecuador.
Plant DiseasePost-harvest diseases like fruit crown rot (CR) on bananas (Musa spp.) worldwide are mainly attributed to Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (Berk. & Curt.) von Arx and Lasiodiplodia theobromae (Pat.) Griff.

Biosynthesis of Resorcylic Acid Lactone Lasiodiplodin inLasiodiplodia theobromae
Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2009The biosynthesis of lasiodiplodin (1) and its (5S)-5-hydroxylated derivative (2) were investigated by the administration of (13)C-labeled acetates to Lasiodiplodia theobromae. The labeling patterns of biosynthetically (13)C-labeled 1 and 2 were determined by (13)C-NMR and INADEQUATE spectra, demonstrating the octaketide origins of 1 and 2.

Lipoxygenase oxidizes linoleic acid into hydroperoxy octadecadienoic acid (HPOD), which is important in food and flavour industries for production of bread and flavouring compounds. As Lasiodiplodia theobromae is an unexplored, good source of lipoxygenase, it was purified from it by size-exclusion (Sephadex G100) and ion-exchange (DEAE-cellulose ...

Lasiodiplodia theobromae Keratitis: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Mycopathologia, 2012A case report and review of literature is reported of a rare case of fungal keratitis from eastern India. A 32-year-old woman with a history of vegetative trauma presented with keratitis in left eye. Microbiological examination of corneal scraping showed refractile hyphae with aseptate branching filaments and black pigmented colonies on multiple solid ...
