Obesity and late-onset hypogonadism
Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 2015Obesity and male hypogonadism (HG) are often associated, as demonstrated in all cross-sectional studies. Mania in old age is not as rare as it was once thought to be. It may constitute up to 5 per cent of admissions in the psychogeriatric department. The clinical picture, for the most part, seems to correspond with mania in younger patients, although some patients may have atypical presentations.

This research focuses on a detailed exploration of late-onset offending. Using the National Youth Survey, this work seeks to answer three questions. First, is late-onset offending a real phenomenon? Second, if late onset does exist, is the evidence for it conditioned by how we define crime and delinquency?
