Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Carbon Stars from Gaia Data Release 3 and the Space Density of Dwarf Carbon Stars
Carbon stars (with atmospheric C/O > 1) range widely in temperature and luminosity, from low-mass dwarfs to asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars. The main-sequence dwarf carbon (dC) stars have inherited carbon-rich material from an AGB companion, which ...

Red Supergiants in the Milky Way and Nearby Galaxies
Identifications of red supergiants (RSGs) in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies have experienced an exponential increase in recent years, driven by advancements in selection techniques, the continued expansion of archival datasets, and a steady increase ...

On the lifetime of discs around late type stars
We address the question of whether protoplanetary discs around low mass stars (e.g. M-dwarfs) may be longer lived than their solar-type counterparts. This question is particularly relevant to assess the planet-making potential of these lower mass discs ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

On the Possibility of an Upper Limit on Magnetically Induced Radius Inflation in Low-mass Stars
The radii of low-mass stars are observed to be inflated above standard model predictions, especially in magnetically active stars. Typically, the empirical relative radius inflations Δ R / R are ≤10% but in (rare) cases may be ≥20%.

Diversities and similarities exhibited by multi-planetary systems and their architectures
The discovered planets in apparent single-planet systems (hereafter singles) and those in systems with multiple detected planets (hence-forth multis) exhibit a rich diversity of physical and orbital properties.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

X-Ray, UV, and Optical Observations of Proxima Centauri’s Stellar Cycle
Proxima Cen (GJ 551; dM5.5e) is one of only about a dozen fully convective stars known to have a stellar cycle, and the only one to have long-term X-ray monitoring.
