Pulsation-triggered mass loss from AGB stars: the 60-day critical period

open access: yes, 2016
Low- and intermediate-mass stars eject much of their mass during the late, red giant branch (RGB) phase of evolution. The physics of their strong stellar winds is still poorly understood.

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Emapalumab for Immune Effector Cell‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis‐Like Syndrome Following CD19‐Directed CAR‐T in Two Patients With B‐ALL: Clinical and Biomarker Correlates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

Una edad del bronce en los Andes CentralesContribución a la elaboración de una historia ambiental

open access: yesBulletin de l'Institut Français d'Études Andines, 2004
Evidence exists of a spectacular territorial development at the beginning of the Late Intermediate Period in the valleys of Piura, Chira and Tumbes: expansion of the agricultural frontier in the equatorial dry forest, changes in the administrative and ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Micronutrient Accumulation in Conilon Coffee Berries with Different Maturation Cycles

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2015
The number of days between anthesis and maturation of conilon coffee berries varies according to the genotype. Thus, it is believed that periods of greater nutrient demand for fruit formation also vary according to the genotype, directly influencing ...

Modelling of intermediate-age stellar populations: III Effects of dust-shells around AGB stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper,we present single stellar population models of intermediate age stellar populations where dust-enshrouded AGB stars are introduced. The formation of carbon stars is also accounted for, and is taken to be a function of both initial mass and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

How does the sward condition in late winter influence the Marandu palisade grass (Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu) structure during spring and summer?

open access: yesTropical Grasslands-Forrajes Tropicales, 2020
Height and mowing of a sward in late winter can change its structure during the subsequent spring and summer seasons, which influences plant growth and animal performance.

Accounting for the economic relationship between Japan and the Asian Tigers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper applies the business cycle accounting method of Chari, Kehoe and McGrattan (2007) to a two-country, two-good model based on Backus, Kehoe and Kydland (1994) to investigate the economic relationship between Japan and the Asian Tigers from ...
