A Tactile Sensor Using Piezoresistive Beams for Detection of the Coefficient of Static Friction

open access: yesSensors, 2016
This paper reports on a tactile sensor using piezoresistive beams for detection of the coefficient of static friction merely by pressing the sensor against an object. The sensor chip is composed of three pairs of piezoresistive beams arranged in parallel

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Analisis Tekuk Lateral Pipa Gas Bawah Laut

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Sipil, 2016
To prevent solidification on the pipeline, hydrocarbon is transferred in high temperature and high pressure. High presure and temperature lead to axial tension appearence along the pipeline.

Miniature FBG force sensor capable of effectively resisting lateral forces

open access: yesOptics Express
This paper presents a high-precision miniature force sensor based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) for measuring axial contact force (CF) between a medical instrument tip and tissue during minimally invasive surgery (MIS) palpation. The newly designed FBG force sensor, with a reduced diameter of 1.5 mm and a total length of 12 mm, is easier to integrate ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Research on Lateral Force of Pile Based on Liquefaction Site Effect

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
This paper presents a theoretical investigation on the lateral force of pile in liquefaction site. Regarded liquefied soil as fluid, the vector method can be used to analyze the liquefaction velocity field and solve the analytical solution of the dynamic

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.
