Commensurate-incommensurate transition in the chiral Ashkin-Teller model

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
We investigate the classical chiral Ashkin-Teller model on a square lattice with the corner transfer matrix renormalization group algorithm. We show that the melting of the period-4 phase in the presence of a chiral perturbation takes different forms ...

Finite-temperature phase diagram of the Heisenberg-Kitaev model

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss the finite-temperature phase diagram of the Heisenberg-Kitaev model on the hexagonal lattice, which has been suggested to describe the spin-orbital exchange of the effective spin-1/2 momenta in the Mott insulating Iridate Na2IrO3.

Spectral spaces of countable Abelian lattice-ordered groups [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2017
A compact topological space X is spectral if it is sober (i.e., every irreducible closed set is the closure of a unique singleton) and the compact open subsets of X form a basis of the topology of X, closed under finite intersections. Theorem.

Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

Information Structures in an Ordered Information System Under Granular Computing View and Their Optimal Selection Based on Uncertainty Measures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2020
Information structures (i-structures) in an ordered information system (OIS) are mathematical structures of the information granules (i-granules) granulated from the data set of this OIS.

Ferromagnetism of cold fermions loaded into a decorated square lattice

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate two-component ultracold fermions loaded into a decorated square lattice, which are described by the Hubbard model with repulsive interactions and nearest neighbor hoppings.

HNN Extensions of Quasi-Lattice Ordered Groups and their Operator Algebras [PDF]

open access: yesDocumenta Mathematica, 2017
The Baumslag-Solitar group is an example of an HNN extension. Spielberg showed that it has a natural positive cone, and that it is then a quasi-lattice ordered group in the sense of Nica. We give conditions for an HNN extension of a quasi-lattice ordered

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Signatures of a Deconfined Phase Transition on the Shastry-Sutherland Lattice: Applications to Quantum Critical SrCu_{2}(BO_{3})_{2}

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2019
We study a possible deconfined quantum phase transition in a realistic model of a two-dimensional Shastry-Sutherland quantum magnet, using both numerical and field theoretic techniques.

Trimer quantum spin liquid in a honeycomb array of Rydberg atoms

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2023
Quantum spin liquids are elusive but paradigmatic examples of strongly correlated quantum states that are characterized by long-range quantum entanglement.
