Thickness-driven shift of the superconducting dome in the phase diagram of epitaxial cuprate thin films [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Materials
The thickness-driven disorder effect has long been subject of interest in thin-film superconductors, given the direct relation between the superconductivity and film thickness.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Optimal boundary control in a micromixer

open access: yesExamples and Counterexamples
This work studies mathematical foundations for optimal boundary control of mixers which mix two fluid phases. Existence of optima is proved and the influence of common objective functionals is discussed.

Local magnetostriction measurement in a cobalt thin film using scanning probe microscopy

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
The local magnetostriction measurement has become an emerging issue because strain-mediated nanocomposites have received considerable attention due to their potential applications for high sensitivity sensors and high density energy harvesters.

STRUCTURAL AND DESIGN SPECIFICS OF SPACE GRID SYSTEMS

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2017
The aim of the study is to identify main trends in the development of space grid structures. In order to reach the purpose it is necessary to conduct a review of the known structural concepts, nodal connections and specifics of the space grid structures ...

Transversal Lattices [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2008
A flat of a matroid is cyclic if it is a union of circuits; such flats form a lattice under inclusion and, up to isomorphism, all lattices can be obtained this way. A lattice is a Tr-lattice if all matroids whose lattices of cyclic flats are isomorphic to it are transversal. We investigate some sufficient conditions for a lattice to be a Tr-lattice; a

The PRIMA Thesaurus for Materials Science and Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The PRIMA Thesaurus is a structured vocabulary designed to improve how materials science data is described and shared. Developed with input from multiple experts, it enables clear documentation of research workflows, data exchange, and reuse across platforms.

On Lattice Dicing

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 1994
A lattice dicing is a finite set \(\{G_ 1, \dots, G_ r\}\) of \(D\)- families of parallel hyperplanes in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) which is both non- degenerate and vertex-regular, where the three needed terms are correspondingly defined as follows: A \(d\)-family contains an infinite number of equispaced parallel hyperplanes ``extending in both directions ...

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.
