Gram‐Scale Production of Iron Oxide Rubik‐Cube Nanoparticles: New Tools for the Clinical Translation of Magnetic Hyperthermia and Magnetic Particle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the first gram‐scale solvothermal synthesis of ‘Rubik's cube’ nanoparticles—cubic, dendritic multicore structures with tuneable sizes and exceptional magnetic heating performance. Featuring iron oxide single‐domain character, with low coercivity fields, high magnetization, and strong MPI signals, they enable viscosity‐independent ...

Nonuniqueness of lattice Boltzmann schemes derived from finite difference methods

open access: yesExamples and Counterexamples
Recently, the construction of finite difference schemes from lattice Boltzmann schemes has been rigorously analyzed [Bellotti et al. (2022), Numer. Math. 152, pp. 1–40].

Lattice Boltzmann scheme for relativistic fluids

open access: yes, 2009
A Lattice Boltzmann formulation for relativistic fluids is presented and numerically verified through quantitative comparison with recent hydrodynamic simulations of relativistic shock-wave propagation in viscous quark-gluon plasmas.

Photoconductivity‐Driven Quantum Efficiency Gain in Inorganic Ruddlesden‐Popper Layered Cs2PbBr2I2 Perovskite Photodetector for Visible Light Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rational halogen mixing strategy was employed to shift the bandgap of Cs2PbBr2I2 from ultraviolet to visible region, enabling first realization of a visible‐light photodetector with this 2D layered Ruddlesden‐Popper perovskite material. Under illumination, light‐induced internal field forms and drives trap‐mediated persistent photoconductivity ...

Thermodynamic consistency of liquid-gas lattice Boltzmann simulations

open access: yes, 2006
Lattice Boltzmann simulations have been very successful in simulating liquid-gas and other multi-phase fluid systems. However, the underlying second order analysis of the equation of motion has long been known to be insufficient to consistently derive ...

Relativistic lattice Boltzmann methods: Theory and applications [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Reports, 2020
We present a systematic account of recent developments of the relativistic Lattice Boltzmann method (RLBM) for dissipative hydrodynamics. We describe in full detail a unified, compact and dimension-independent procedure to design relativistic LB schemes capable of bridging the gap between the ultra-relativistic regime, $k_{\rm B} T \gg mc^2$, and the ...

Surface Diffusion in SnTe‐PbTe Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The lateral heterostructures between 2D materials often suffer from the interdiffusion at the interfaces. Here, a surface diffusion mechanism is found to be dominating at the interfaces between semiconducting SnTe and PbTe monolayers. Atomically sharp interfaces can be achieved by suppressing this diffusion process. ABSTRACT The construction of complex
