Lattice-Boltzmann modeling of phonon hydrodynamics

Physical Review E, 2008
Based on the phonon Boltzmann equation, a lattice-Boltzmann model for phonon hydrodynamics is developed. Both transverse and longitudinal polarized phonons that interact through normal and umklapp processes are considered in the model. The collision term is approximated by the relaxation time model where normal and umklapp processes tend to relax ...

Essentially Entropic Lattice Boltzmann Model

Physical Review Letters, 2017
The entropic lattice Boltzmann model (ELBM), a discrete space-time kinetic theory for hydrodynamics, ensures nonlinear stability via the discrete time version of the second law of thermodynamics (the H theorem). Compliance with the H theorem is numerically enforced in this methodology and involves a search for the maximal discrete path length ...

Boltzmann lattice and off-lattice modeling

Multiphase flows exist in extensive applications of biomedical industry. Efficient and accurate simulation of multiphase flows plays a key role in process design, optimization of resource usage, and advanced control strategies, which are vital to modern biomedical industries.

Lattice-Boltzmann model for bacterial chemotaxis

Journal of Mathematical Biology, 2005
We present a new numerical approach for modeling bacterial chemotaxis and the fate and transport of a chemoattractant in bulk liquids. This Lattice-Boltzmann method represents the microorganisms and the chemoattractant by quasi-particles that move, collide, and react with each other on a two-dimensional numerical lattice.

A LATTICE BOLTZMANN MODEL FOR GROUNDWATER FLOWS

International Journal of Modern Physics C, 2007
A novel lattice Boltzmann model is proposed for groundwater isotropic flows (LABGIF). It solves the isotropic groundwater equation. This is generally suitable for both steady and unsteady groundwater problems. Only a 5-speed square lattice is required for 2D and 7-speed cubic for 3D cases in the model.
