A quantum field theory of melting and lattice dynamics

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1986
Abstract The melting and the lattice dynamics are investigated from the view-point of a quantum field theory at finite temperature (thermo field theory). Our theory starts with ion cores and valence electrons interacting with each other as the first principle.

Quantum solitons and anyons in lattice field theories

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1990
We briefly report some results obtained in a joint work with J. Frohlich on quantization and particle structure analysis of solitons in Lattice Field Theories. In particular we discuss abelian gauge theories with Chern-Simons term coupled to Higgs fields in three space-time dimensions.

Scattering and Bound States in Euclidean Lattice Quantum Field Theories

Annales Henri Poincaré, 2001
The problem of asymptotic completeness (AC) is the question whether all pure states can be interpreted in terms of scattering states of particles. The authors study here the two-body AC in massive Euclidean lattice quantum field theories. Schwinger \(n\)-point functions \(S_n(x_1,\dots, x_n)\), \(x_i\in \mathbb{Z}^{d+1}\) with \(d\geq 1\), and Bethe ...

A quantum field theory of lattice dynamics and melting in compounds

Il Nuovo Cimento D, 1989
A unified theory on the lattice dynamics and the melting in compounds is presented by taking into account the Coulomb interaction. The melting temperature is determined by the mean value of the eigenfrequencies of the atoms. The theory is applied to zincblende and rock salt structure crystals.

A quantum field theory of lattice dynamics at finite temperature

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1984
Abstract A quantum field theoretical treatment of three-dimensional cubic crystals at finite temperature is presented from the view-point of the spontaneous breakdown of the spatial translational invariance using thermo field theory. The effective interaction Hamiltonian is constructed by taking into account the dynamical map of the molecular density

Lattice Renormalization of Non-Perturbative Quantum Field Theory

1980
We discuss lattice renormalization as a basis for understanding non-perturbative effects in quantum field theory. We first study two solvable examples of quantum field theory in two dimensions where lattice renormalization may be explicitly carried out, namely the Ising field theory and the Thirring model.
