The chirally rotated Schrödinger functional: theoretical expectations and perturbative tests

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2016
The chirally rotated Schrödinger functional (χSF) with massless Wilson-type fermions provides an alternative lattice regularization of the Schrödinger functional (SF), with different lattice symmetries and a common continuum limit expected from ...

Lattice Gauge theory before lattice Gauge theory

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal H
Abstract How was Lattice Gauge Theory born? What was it like in the “early days” of the 1970s and 80s before lattice field theory became a substantial subfield of high energy theory? How did high energy physics and condensed matter theory get together? What were the big physics problems and technical challenges of the day?

Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

N = 2* Yang-Mills on the Lattice

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The N = 2* Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions is a non-conformal theory that appears as a mass deformation of maximally supersymmetric N = 4 Yang-Mills theory.

Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Funkcje Naprężeń w Teorii Powłok Siatkowych

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 1973
In the paper are considered the stress functions used in the theory of surface lattice structures, which may be modelled by a two-dimensional, fibrous Cosserat medium.

Tuning the Optoelectronic Properties of Wide Bandgap Perovskites: Data‐Driven Insights from Combinatorial Synthesis and High‐Throughput Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Combinatorial vapor deposition enables independent tuning of Cs/Pb and Br/Cl in wide‐bandgap perovskites. Automated multimodal mapping of 500+ compositions reveals a high‐energy optical transition that correlates with enhanced photoluminescence, defining a practical Cs/Pb window.

A Thermodynamic Model of Antiferroelectics and Its Application to Electric Field Induced Antiferroelectric‐Ferroelectric Transition in PbZrO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A thermodynamic model that incorporates ferroelectric, antiferroelectric, and antiferrodistortive orders of PbZrO3${\rm PbZrO}_3$ is established and parameterized based on experimental measurements and first‐principles calculations. We derive a Clapeyron‐like equation for describing the temperature‐dependence of critical electric fields for the ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Atom Probe Tomography as an Emerging Tool for Understanding Defect‑Driven Mechanisms in HfO2‑Based Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective highlights atom probe tomography as a powerful tool for understanding the atomic‐scale defect chemistry in HfO2‐based ferroelectrics. 3D mapping of dopants, point defects, and interface chemistry can provide new insight into defect‐driven mechanisms underpinning the ferroelectricity in the system and guide the design of more reliable ...
