Computation of hybrid static potentials in SU(3) lattice gauge theory
We compute hybrid static potentials in SU(3) lattice gauge theory. We present a method to automatically generate a large set of suitable creation operators with defined quantum numbers from elementary building blocks.

Lattice investigation of the phase diagram of the 1+1 dimensional Gross-Neveu model at finite number of fermion flavors [PDF]
We explore the phase structure of the 1+1 dimensional Gross-Neveu model at finite number of fermion flavors using lattice field theory. Besides a chirally symmetric phase and a homogeneously broken phase we find evidence for the existence of an ...

Geometric Identities in Lattice Theory
The authors continue the work started in Adv. Math. 144, 50-93 (1999; Zbl 0933.06004) and Adv. Math. 150, 36-79 (2000; Zbl 0957.06007), giving further evidence to a conjecture of Hawrylycz and Rota's saying that any identity in a Grassmann-Cayley algebra translates into a related identity holding in linear lattices (i.e.

Mesoscale fluid simulation with the Lattice Boltzmann method [PDF]
PhDThis thesis describes investigations of several complex fluid effects., including hydrodynamic spinodal decomposition, viscous instability. and self-assembly of a cubic surfactant phase, by simulating them with a lattice Boltzmann computational ...

Lattice improvement in lattice effective field theory [PDF]
Lattice calculations using the framework of effective field theory have been applied to a wide range few-body and many-body systems. One of the challenges of these calculations is to remove systematic errors arising from the nonzero lattice spacing. Fortunately, the lattice improvement program pioneered by Symanzik provides a formalism for doing this ...

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Tetraquark resonances computed with static lattice QCD potentials and scattering theory
We study tetraquark resonances with lattice QCD potentials computed for two static quarks and two dynamical quarks, the Born-Oppenheimer approximation and the emergent wave method of scattering theory.

Approximate SU(5) Fine Structure Constants
We fit the three finestructure constants of the Standard Model, in which the first approximation of theoretically estimable parameters include (1) a “unified scale”, turning out not equal to the Planck scale and thus only estimable by a very speculative ...

An alternative lattice field theory formulation inspired by lattice supersymmetry
We propose an unconventional formulation of lattice field theories which is quite general, although originally motivated by the quest of exact lattice supersymmetry. Two long standing problems have a solution in this context: 1) Each degree of freedom on
