Tuning the size of a redox-active tetrathiafulvalene-based self-assembled ring

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
The synthesis of a new Pd coordination-driven self-assembled ring M6L3 constructed from a concave tetrapyridyl π-extended tetrathiafulvalene ligand (exTTF) is described. The same ligand is also able to self-assemble in a M4L2 mode as previously described.

Lavoisier and meat stock

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Chimie, 2006
Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier published his results on ‘meat stock’ preparation in 1783. Measuring density, he stated that ‘food principles’ were better extracted using a large quantity of water. This result was checked. .

Supply and Demand in the Mathematics of Rare Disease Drug Development: Why Choosing the Right Model Is Crucial

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Clinical trials for rare diseases face a fundamental mathematical challenge that conventional randomized controlled trial (RCT) designs cannot overcome. With approximately 95% of the estimated 10,000–16,000 rare diseases lacking approved therapies, and drug development programs failing at rates exceeding 75% in non‐oncology indications, the ...

Martin representation and Relative Fatou Theorem for fractional Laplacian with a gradient perturbation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Let $L=\Delta^{\alpha/2}+ b\cdot\nabla$ with $\alpha\in(1,2)$. We prove the Martin representation and the Relative Fatou Theorem for non-negative singular $L$-harmonic functions on ${\mathcal C}^{1,1}$ bounded open sets.Comment: 28 pages, editorial ...
