Exponential Inequalities for Positively Associated Random Variables and Applications

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2008
We establish some exponential inequalities for positively associated random variables without the boundedness assumption. These inequalities improve the corresponding results obtained by Oliveira (2005).

A general law of the iterated logarithm for non-additive probabilities

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
Motivated by some interesting problems in mathematical economics, quantum mechanics and finance, non-additive probabilities have been used to describe the phenomena which are generally non-additive. In this paper, we further study the law of the iterated

The Law of Iterated Logarithm for Autoregressive Processes [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2014
This paper mainly discusses some dynamics asymptotic properties of autoregressive processes. By using the m‐dependence of random variables, we prove the least squares (LS) estimator of the unknown parameters satisfies the law of iterated logarithm.

Kolmogorov's law of the iterated logarithm for noncommutative martingales

open access: yes, 2014
We prove Kolmogorov's law of the iterated logarithm for noncommutative martingales. The commutative case was due to Stout.

Imperfection in Semiconductors Leading to High Performance Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Crystalline perfection is typically pursued in semiconductors to enhance device performance. However, through modeling and experimental work, we show that defects can be strategically employed in a specific detection regime to increase sensitivity to extreme values. GaN diodes are demonstrated to effectively detect high‐energy proton beams at fluxes as

Oscillation of generalized differences of H\"older and Zygmund functions

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we analyze the oscillation of functions having derivatives in the H\"older or Zygmund class in terms of generalized differences and prove that its growth is governed by a version of the classical Kolmogorov's Law of the Iterated Logarithm ...

Wafer‐Scale Bandgap‐Tunable MoS2/PbS Phototransistors Enabled by Solution Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work advances bandgap‐tunable MoS2/PbS phototransistors by introducing lateral heterojunctions, which enable superior tunable bandgap (1.24–0.61 eV) via Type‐II alignment. Plasma‐enhanced solution processing ensures uniform 4‐inch wafer‐scale fabrication with 97% yield.

Integrating Automated Electrochemistry and High‐Throughput Characterization with Machine Learning to Explore Si─Ge─Sn Thin‐Film Lithium Battery Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A closed‐loop, data‐driven approach facilitates the exploration of high‐performance Si─Ge─Sn alloys as promising fast‐charging battery anodes. Autonomous electrochemical experimentation using a scanning droplet cell is combined with real‐time optimization to efficiently navigate composition space.

Limit properties for ratios of order statistics from exponentials

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
In this paper, we study the limit properties of the ratio for order statistics based on samples from an exponential distribution and obtain the expression of the density functions, the existence of the moments, the strong law of large numbers for R n i j

Patterns in Sinai's walk

open access: yes, 2013
Sinai's random walk in random environment shows interesting patterns on the exponential time scale. We characterize the patterns that appear on infinitely many time scales after appropriate rescaling (a functional law of iterated logarithm).
