Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Layer-by-Layer Assembly of CeO2 Nanoparticle/Bovine Serum Albumin Films for Bone Regeneration

open access: yes, 2023
As a critical factor in bone regeneration, oxidative stress affects the effectiveness of implantation seriously. Construction of bioactive coatings with ideal antioxidative and osteogenic activities is essential for the repair of bone injury.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Preparation of lignosulfonate‐based nanofiltration membranes with improved water desalination performance

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences, 2021
Pulping and papermaking generate large amounts of waste in the form of lignosulfonates which have limited valorized applications so far. Herein, we report a novel lignosulfonate‐based nanofiltration membrane, prepared by using polyethylenimine (PEI) and ...

Layer-by-Layer Assembly of Polyaniline Nanofibers and MXene Thin-Film Electrodes for Electrochemical Energy Storage

open access: yes, 2019
The growing demand for compact energy storage devices may be met through the use of thin-film microbatteries, which generally rely on charge storage in thin or conformal layers.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Layer-by-Layer Assembly of Graphene Oxide Nanoplatelets Embedded Desalination Membranes with Improved Chlorine Resistance

open access: yes, 2019
Membranes with polyamide thin film active layer are used in reverse osmosis based water desalination applications. Incorporation of graphene oxide nanoplatelets (GONPs) in the polyamide layer can alter the surface characteristics, permeability ...
