Tubular Titania Nanostructures via Layer‐by‐Layer Self‐Assembly

Advanced Functional Materials, 2007
AbstractNanostructured titania‐polyelectrolyte composite and pure anatase and rutile titania tubes were successfully prepared by layer‐by‐layer (LbL) deposition of a water‐soluble titania precursor, titanium(IV) bis(ammonium lactato) dihydroxide (TALH) and the oppositely charged poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) to form multilayer films.

Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembly under High Gravity Field

Langmuir, 2012
In the present article, we have developed a facile and rapid method to fabricate a polyelectrolyte multilayer under high gravity field and investigated the difference of mass transfer in the diffusing process between LbL self-assembled technique under high gravity field (HG-LbL) and dipping assembly.

Layer-By-Layer Self-Assembled Emerging Systems for Nanosized Drug Delivery

Nanomedicine, 2022
New frontiers in the development of stimuli-responsive surfaces that offer switchable properties according to the end-use application have added a new dimension to the design of drug-delivery systems (DDS). In this respect, layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembled technologies have attracted interest in nano-DDS (NDDS) design due to the advantage of ...

Hierarchically Assembled Nanofibers Created by a Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembly

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2016
We report the hierarchically assembled nanofibers created by LbL self-assembly depending on the PSS-PAA fraction in the blend solutions and pH during bulid-up of the PAH/(PSS-PAA) multilayer films. The multilayer [(PEI/blend)/(PAH/blend)4] films with ρPAA (PSS-PAA fraction in the blend solutions) = 0.0 in the blend solution exhibited surface ...

Layer-by-Layer Quantum Dot Constructs Using Self-Assembly Methods

Langmuir, 2010
We describe the creation of CdSe/ZnS quantum dot assemblies using layer-by-layer construction strategies, using self-assembly. In the first approach, a dithiol linker was used to make multilayers of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots, while in the second biotin- and streptavidin-conjugated CdSe/ZnS quantum dots were used to make multilayer constructs.

Multilayer Nanostructured Porphyrin Arrays Constructed by Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembly

Langmuir, 2009
UV-vis absorption, atomic force microscopy (AFM), contact angle, and X-ray reflectivity experiments were performed on thin films deposited on crystalline silicon substrates as alternating layers of a porphyrin with anionic functionality, tetra-5,10,15,20-(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine (TSPP) or the metalated version, Cu(II)TSPP, and the cationic ...

Layer by layer self assembly of Polyelectrolytes and S-layers

10th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology, 2010
Layers rep resent the outermost cell envelope component of many prokaryotic organisms. Isolated S-layer subunits have the capability to assemble into monomolecular arrays. Combination of S-layer self assembled proteins with Polyelectrolyte (PE) multilayers and PE capsule (S-Capsules) gives the possibility to functionalize the surface of the capsules ...

Layer-by-layer self assembly of polyelectrolytes on colloidal particles

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1998
Abstract Polyelectrolytes have been consecutively adsorbed onto charged polystyrene latex particles, forming stable ultrathin multilayer films. Film growth has been followed by electrophoresis, dynamic light scattering, single particle light scattering and fluorescence intensity measurements.

LAYER-BY-LAYER SELF-ASSEMBLED FILMS OF ROSE BENGAL

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2011
Layer-by-Layer (LBL) self-assembled films of rose bengal (RB) have been fabricated onto quartz substrate by the alternative adsorption of polycation poly (amine hydrochloride) (PAH) and RB. UV–Vis absorption studies reveal the formation of RB dimmer in PAH-RB LbL films.

Layer-by-layer self-assembly of hydrophobically modified polyelectrolytes

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 1999
Polymeric multilayer films are self-assembled by alternating electrostatic adsorption of a coloured polyanion and UV-labeled polycations which exhibit polysoap characteristics. Film thicknesses grow linearly with the adsorption cycles, albeit the films grown from salt-free aqueous solutions are very thin.
