Tubular Titania Nanostructures via Layer‐by‐Layer Self‐Assembly
Advanced Functional Materials, 2007AbstractNanostructured titania‐polyelectrolyte composite and pure anatase and rutile titania tubes were successfully prepared by layer‐by‐layer (LbL) deposition of a water‐soluble titania precursor, titanium(IV) bis(ammonium lactato) dihydroxide (TALH) and the oppositely charged poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) to form multilayer films.

Layer-by-Layer Quantum Dot Constructs Using Self-Assembly Methods
Langmuir, 2010We describe the creation of CdSe/ZnS quantum dot assemblies using layer-by-layer construction strategies, using self-assembly. In the first approach, a dithiol linker was used to make multilayers of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots, while in the second biotin- and streptavidin-conjugated CdSe/ZnS quantum dots were used to make multilayer constructs.

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2011Layer-by-Layer (LBL) self-assembled films of rose bengal (RB) have been fabricated onto quartz substrate by the alternative adsorption of polycation poly (amine hydrochloride) (PAH) and RB. UV–Vis absorption studies reveal the formation of RB dimmer in PAH-RB LbL films.

Layer-by-layer self-assembly of hydrophobically modified polyelectrolytes
Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 1999Polymeric multilayer films are self-assembled by alternating electrostatic adsorption of a coloured polyanion and UV-labeled polycations which exhibit polysoap characteristics. Film thicknesses grow linearly with the adsorption cycles, albeit the films grown from salt-free aqueous solutions are very thin.
