The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Analysis on the Cause of Cold and Warm Transition in Beijing- Tianjin-Hebei during November-December 2022

open access: yesGaoyuan qixiang
During November-December of 2022, the climate of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) showed significant cold and warm transition, and the average air temperature difference between November and December was 10.6 °C, ranked first with 1971 and 1980 since 1961 ...

Comparative Effects of Xylanase Supplementation on Broiler, Broiler Breeder and Layer Chick Performance and Feed Utilization on Wheat Based Diet

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2007
The interaction between chick type and xylanase supplementation (Avizyme 1300) of a wheat based diet was investigated using a 3×2 factorial arrangement.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Quantifying Polar Mesospheric Clouds Thermal Impact on Mesopause

open access: yesAtmosphere
The article is focused on the quantitative assessment of the thermal impact of polar mesospheric clouds (PMCs) on the mesopause caused by the emission of absorbed solar and terrestrial infrared (IR) radiation by cloud particles.

A Surface Conversion Treatment on a Borided and Cemented Seel Coated with Chromium Filme

open access: yesIranian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
Coatings based on chromium borides and chromium carbides are commonly employed in applications requiring mechanical performance, such as high hardness and low friction coefficient, as well as corrosion resistance. In this work, we made layers of chromium

Layered modes

open access: yesThe Journal of Logic Programming, 1999
Summary: Modes were introduced in logic programming to differentiate the input arguments of a predicate from its output arguments. This information can be used for verifying the most diverse properties of logic programs, notably absence of run-time errors and absence of deadlocks in presence of delay declarations.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Differential Hall Effect Metrology for Electrical Characterization of Advanced Semiconductor Layers

open access: yesMetrology
Semiconductor layers employed in fabricating advanced node devices are becoming thinner and their electrical properties are diverging from those established for highly crystalline standards.
