A Zn/Al layered double hydroxide with molar ratio of 3 was prepared by coprecipitation in alkaline pH and used as a matrix to intercalate the ionic complex diaquadioxalatooxoniobate(V) (DDON), derived from NH(4)[NbO(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]2H(2)O.

LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDES FOR CO2 CAPTURE [PDF]
Atmospheric concentrations of several greenhouse gases, in particular, carbon dioxide (CO2) have increased significantly in the recent past largely due to the combustion of fossil fuels. The capture of CO2 from industrial flue gases has therefore become a vital issue attracting the attention of several research groups and organisations in the world ...

Photoactive oriented films of layered double hydroxides
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2008The treatment of nano-ordered oriented films of layered double hydroxide (LDH) with dodecyl sulfate increased the interlayer distance from 0.4 to 1.96 nm, which allowed the intercalation of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin (TPPS). The re-stacking of separated layers and the rebuilding of crystals oriented parallel to the surface of ...

Layered double hydroxides as potential chromate scavengers
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2006The LDH of Ni with Fe, having the formula Ni(1-x)Fe(x)(OH)2(A(n-))(x/n)yH2O (A = NO3-, Cl-; x = 0.25, 0.33), scavenges CrO4(2-) ions from solution throughout the concentration range examined (0.00625-0.25 N). The CrO4(2-) uptake capacity is independent of the anion in the starting LDH but is higher when x = 0.25 (3.60 meq g(-1)) as compared to x = 0.33

Sorption of Anionic Surfactants on Layered Double Hydroxides
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2000In the present study we investigated the adsorption of sodium dodecyl- and octylsulfate, and sodium dodecyl- and octylbenzenesulfonate, on a layered double hydroxide (LDH) under controlled conditions. The results were compared to those obtained for the adsorption of surfactants on mineral oxides and on LDHs, showing that the behavior of surfactant ...

Layered Double Hydroxide Derivatives for Polyolefin Upcycling
Journal of the American Chemical SocietyWhile Ru-catalyzed hydrogenolysis holds significant promise in converting waste polyolefins into value-added alkane fuels, a major constraint is the high cost of noble metal catalysts. In this work, we propose, for the first time, that Co-based catalysts derived from CoAl-layered double hydroxide (LDH) are alternatives for efficient polyolefin ...
