Reactivity and applications of layered silicates and layered double hydroxides [PDF]
Layered materials, such as layered sodium silicates and layered double hydroxides (LDHs), are well-known for their remarkable adsorption, intercalation and swelling properties. Their tunable interlayers offer an interesting avenue for the fabrication of pillared nanoporous materials, organic-inorganic hybrid materials and catalysts or catalyst supports.

Effects of Aluminum Hydroxide and Layered Double Hydroxide on Asphalt Fire Resistance [PDF]
When a fire occurs in a tunnel, the instantaneous high temperature and smoke cause great danger to people. Therefore, the asphalt pavement material in the tunnel must have sufficient fire resistance. In this study, the effects of aluminum hydroxide and layered double hydroxide on the fire resistance of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer-modified ...

The photo-oxidation of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM)/ layered double hydroxide (LDH) composites as well as EPDM/LDH with stabilizers is studied under accelerated UV irradiation (λ≥290 nm) at 60°C for different time intervals. The development of functional groups during oxidation was monitored by FT-IR spectroscopy.

Pickering emulsions based on layered double hydroxides and metal hydroxides
As previously underlined in this book, Pickering emulsions have in recent years gained increasing attention due to their interesting properties related to the replacement of surfactants by solid microparticles or nanoparticles. Such change in the nature of the stabilizer confers higher stability and lower toxicity to the emulsions.
