Development of Transversely Isotropic Elastoplastic Constitutive Model in FLAC3D and Its Application in Tunnel Engineering

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
The obvious anisotropy of layered rock mass prevents the built-in constitutive model of commercial simulation software from accurately describing the elastoplastic behavior of the rock mass.

Stability evaluation of tunnels in steeply dipping layered rock mass using numerical models: a case study. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep
Tunnel stability is a critical factor in complex geological conditions, particularly in rock masses with steeply dipping layers. Among widely used methods, the Convergence–Confinement Method (CCM), a prevalent two-dimensional (2D) approach, effectively ...

Stability Analysis on the Steeply-Inclined Small-Angle Layered Surrounding Rock Masses at the Upstream High Sidewall of a Large-Span Cavern

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
The underground powerhouse of China’s Wudongde hydropower station is one of the world’s underground powerhouses with the largest span and height. Because the underground powerhouse is all located in steeply-inclined layered rock masses, and the bedding ...

Study on Mechanical Problems of Complex Rock Mass by Composite Material Micromechanics Methods: A Literature Review

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
The mechanical analysis of complex rock mass is a difficult problem, which often occurs in scientific research and practical engineering. Many achievements have been made in the study of rock mass composite problems by composite material micromechanics ...

Blastability Classification of Fractured Rock Mass Based on Weighted Clustering Analysis

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
This paper classifies the blastability of fractured rock mass based on the solid coefficient, rock impedance, unit explosive consumption and mean fracture spacing. Specifically, an evaluation model was established according to the principle of clustering

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Tunnel surrounding rock plastic zone in the layered rock mass with the elastoplastic theory

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi
Existing theoretical studies on the plastic zone of tunnel surrounding rock mainly focus on the circular tunnel in the isotropic rock mass, with limited attention paid to layered rock mass.

Frequency response characteristics and failure model of single-layered thin plate rock mass under dynamic loading

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In underground engineering, disturbance of dynamic load can change layered rock mass stress state and induce accidents. Traditional elastic mechanics can’t effectively solve the complex deformation problem.

Modification of rock mass rating system: Interbedding of strong and weak rock layers

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2017
Rock mass classification systems are the very important part for underground projects and rock mass rating (RMR) is one of the most commonly applied classification systems in numerous civil and mining projects. The type of rock mass consisting of an interbedding of strong and weak layers poses difficulties and uncertainties for determining the RMR. For
