Layer‐by‐Layer Assembly: Recent Progress from Layered Assemblies to Layered Nanoarchitectonics
AbstractAs an emerging concept for the development of new materials with nanoscale features, nanoarchitectonics has received significant recent attention. Among the various approaches that have been developed in this area, the fixed‐direction construction of functional materials, such as layered fabrication, offers a helpful starting point to ...

Impact of growth trajectory on sexual maturation in layer chickens
Recent studies showed that apart from photostimulation, metabolic triggers may independently activate sexual maturation and egg production in chickens. However, the origin, mode of action, and specific target(s) of this metabolic control remain unknown ...

Layer-by-Layer Freezing of Nanoconfined Water [PDF]
AbstractNanoconfined water plays a pivotal role in a vast number of fields ranging from biological and materials sciences to catalysis, nanofluidics and geochemistry. Here, we report the freezing and melting behavior of water (D2O) nanoconfined in architected silica-based matrices including Vycor glass and mesoporous silica SBA-15 and SBA-16 with pore ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
