A case of ACTH secreting large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) of bronchus

Oncology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Reports, 2012
Bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumors account for only 20% of all lung carcinomas. These tumors are separated into four subtypes of low-grade (typical carcinoids), intermediate-grade (atypical carcinoids) and high-grade carcinomas which include large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) and small-cell lung carcinoma (SCLC).

Genetic subtypes of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) to predict response to chemotherapy.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2017
9061 Background: To treat LCNEC with non-small cell lung carcinoma type chemotherapy (NSCLC-ct, i.e. gemcitabine/taxanes or pemetrexed) or small cell lung carcinoma type (SCLC-ct, i.e. platinum-etoposide) is subject of debate. Molecular studies have identified two mutually exclusive subtypes in LCNEC, the co-mutated TP53 and RB1and the STK11/ KEAP1 ...

Characterization of genomic alterations in Chinese LCNEC and SCLC via comprehensive genomic profiling.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2019
1575 Background: LCNEC and SCLC are aggressive neuroendocrine carcinomas with overlap in clinical, histopathologic, morphologic and genomic features. Differential molecular features between the two subtypes have not been well elucidated, contributing the uncertainty for optimal clinical strategy for each subtype.

Stage IV large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) of the lung: Clinicopathologic features, treatment, and survival.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2014
e19046 Background: LCNEC is a rare thoracic malignancy, for which optimal therapy is not well-defined. We report the largest series of stage IV LCNECs, evaluating clinicopathologic features, treatment and survival outcomes. Methods: Patients (pts) with stage IV LCNEC evaluated at MSKCC from 2006-2013 were identified.

Exploring systemic treatment approaches for advanced pure large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC): A multicenter retrospective analysis.

Journal of Clinical Oncology
8106 Background: Due to lack of prospective data, the optimal first line treatment approach for patients (pts) with pure LCNEC histology remains uncertain. Methods: Across 17 centers, we conducted a retrospective analysis of metastatic pure LCNEC (diagnosed at local institutions) who received 1st-line systemic therapy between 2015-2023.
