Evaluating species at risk in data-limited fisheries: A productivity-susceptibility analysis for marine aquarium fish. [PDF]
Abstract The marine aquarium trade (MAT) is a significant global industry harvesting millions of wild‐caught, live coral reef fishes for public and private aquaria markets in the United States and Europe annually, while supporting fisher livelihoods in the Indo‐Pacific.

Stromatolitic Mounds in Tidal-Facies Sandstones of the Paleoarchean Moodies Group (Barberton Greenstone Belt, Eswatini). [PDF]
ABSTRACT Shallow‐marine environments are thought to have been pivotal to the spreading, perhaps even the origin, of early life on Earth. The shallow‐marine Archean sedimentary record of early life, however, is biased towards carbonates; nearshore siliciclastic environments have not received proportional attention.

Continuous biopolymer production from biogas using feast‐famine strategies was found to be negatively impacted by the bacterial growth on the biopolymer during the feast phase. In this work, Rodriguez and colleagues investigated for the first time the potential of a novel two‐stage growth‐accumulation system to maximize the continuous production of CH4‐

Abstract Dissolved iron (dFe) transported by the Amur River greatly contributes to phytoplankton growth in the Sea of Okhotsk. Nevertheless, there has been little research on the source of dFe to rivers, especially in the Amur‐Mid Basin, which is situated in a sporadic permafrost area.

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Abstract We describe an experiment where cattle urine was applied at a rate of 420 kg N ha−1, equivalent to 10 L m−2, to mesocosm swards of a high lipid genetically modified perennial ryegrass line (HME) and its wild type (WT). We measured N pools and fluxes in the plant and soil, soil microbial populations and N2O production.

Aldehyde‐Based Inhibitors of the Peptidoglycan O‐Acetylesterase Ape
Aldehyde‐based inhibitors of the peptidoglycan deacetylase Ape were shown to act as competitive inhibitors with Ki values in the low micromolar range. Reduction of the aldehyde to an alcohol abolishes inhibition, suggesting that the binding may involve the formation of a tetrahedral adduct with the active site serine nucleophile.

Acral lamellar ichthyosis with amino acid substitution in the C‐terminus of keratin 2
Abstract Background Most cases of hereditary ichthyoses present with generalized scaling and skin dryness. However, in some cases skin involvement is restricted to particular body regions as in acral lamellar ichthyosis. Objectives We report on the genetic basis of acral ichthyosis in two families presenting with a similar phenotype.
