Development of ZnO Buffer Layers for As‐Doped CdSeTe/CdTe Solar Cells with Efficiency Exceeding 20%

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Highly resistive ZnO has been used as the buffer layer in As‐doped CdSeTe/CdTe solar cells to achieve efficiencies higher than 20%. STEM images and EDX mapping show that the quality of the front interface is dependent on the ZnO deposition temperature. Unusually, chlorine is not observed at the front interface using EDX when the ZnO is deposited at 100

Triboelectrification During Water Intrusion–Extrusion into‐from Hydrophobic Nanopores

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An innovative class of tribogenerator (IE‐TENG) is proposed, which is based on cyclic water intrusion–extrusion into‐from hydrophobic nanopores. This IE‐TENG possesses surface area orders of magnitude higher than flat surfaces and achieves remarkable electricity generation.

Transforming Room Acoustics with Causality‐Driven Dual‐Function Passive Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents an dual acoustic metamaterial for rooms that achieves excellent broadband performance for both sound absorption and sound diffusion. This is done by using causality formulations linking the absorption of the passive system to its volume, yielding an optimal surface area ratio required for excellent sound absorption and while ...

Hybrid Electroluminescence Device for On‐Demand Single Photon Generation at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
New type of electroluminescent device based on hBN nanocrystals deposited on a GaN laser diode displays electrically driven emission of single photons at room temperature. Low g2(0) autocorrelation function values are achieved of < 0.2 for continuous driving and < 0.4 for on‐demand single‐photon emission.

Photochromic Molecules Enable Optical Control of Optomechanical Coupling in a Cavity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
An optomechanical system with optically‐tunable coupling is introduced, featuring a multilayered membrane with a photochromic molecule and NIR‐absorbing dye. Laser cooling of a membrane vibrational mode is evidenced, with a 60% improvement in efficiency achieved upon photoisomerization, as well as reversible control of photothermal forces.

From the Bulk to the Nanoscale: Strong Evolution in the Structure and Chiroptical Properties of Chiral Halide Double Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A complete series of bromide‐based and iodide‐based 2D chiral double perovskites has been structurally characterized and their chiroptical properties investigated to reveal the effect of both polymorphism and nature of the halide anions in the circular dichroism of the thin films.
