Sizing and concentration analysis of cfDNA using Biabooster technology: Results from a prospective plasma‐based collection of 77 patients with locally advanced unresectable esophageal cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? This study introduces a novel approach for detecting locally advanced esophageal carcinoma using cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) analysis through a highly sensitive fragmentome assay. Unlike traditional sequencing‐based methods that are limited by the absence of specific mutations in esophageal tumors, our method offers an alternative by quantifying ...

The impact of low‐dose aspirin on hemoglobin levels in pregnancy: A secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial for prevention of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives This study evaluates the association of low‐dose aspirin (LDA) with hemoglobin (Hb) levels during pregnancy and explores how changes in Hb levels relate to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP). Methods This secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial comprised 249 pregnant women recruited from a regional hospital in ...

The Human Skin Microbiome Is a Reflective Mirror of Alcohol Intake

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
Comprehensive analyses of 3306 human skin microbiome samples from publicly available datasets revealed that lifestyle factors, particularly alcohol intake, influence skin microbiome composition. An independent validation cohort study was conducted, confirming high consistency with the meta‐analysis and highlighting the robustness of the findings.

Ginseng polysaccharides prevent mastitis through Lactobacillus murinus‐derived deoxycholic acid and TGR5 signaling

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

Accu16S/AccuITS: Accurate and broadly applicable amplicon sequencing for absolute microbiome quantification

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Traditional 16S rRNA gene and Internal Transcribed Spacer region amplicon sequencing provides only relative abundance, often leading to biased ecological interpretations. To overcome this limitation, we developed Accu16S/AccuITS, an absolute quantification method for bacterial and fungal amplicons based on synthetic internal spike‐in DNA with known ...
