Space charge characteristics of LDPE nanocomposite/LDPE insulation system

IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2015
Two kinds of insulation systems with nanocomposite have been fabricated by co-pressing low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and nano-titania doped LDPE (TiO2-LDPE) films. The three-layer systems considered are TiO2-LDPE/LDPE/TiO2-LDPE (namely, NLN) and LDPE/TiO2-LDPE/LDPE (namely, LNL). Space charge distributions under different applied electric fields were

LDPE–wood composites utilizing degraded LDPE as compatibilizer

Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 2013
Abstract The effect of degraded low-density polyethylene (dLDPE) as compatibilizer on the morphology and properties of low-density polyethylene (LDPE)/wood flour (WF) composites was investigated. The formation of functional groups on the degraded polyethylene chains enables the dLDPE to be used as a compatibilizer. The SEM images show smooth surfaces

Space charge behavior near LDPE/LDPE interface

2000 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (Cat. No.00CH37132), 2005
We investigated the space charge behavior near the interface between different low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Charge carriers were mainly injected from the semiconductive electrode in a specimen of Al/LDPE/LDPE/semiconductive layer and they moved through the interface to the counter Al electrode.

Melt Rheology of LDPE and Glass Bead Filled LDPE Composite

Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 1999
The effects of shear rates and temperatures on the melt shear viscosity (17w) and the relationship between the first normal stress difference (NI) and the wall shear stress (Tr,,) of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and glass bead filled LDPE composite, over a temperature range from 130 to 1 70'C and shear rates varied from 100 to I

Improving the properties of LDPE/glass fiber composites with silanized‐LDPE

Polymer Composites, 2008
AbstractLow density polyethylene (LDPE) is a widely used thermoplastic. The dispersion of inorganic fillers in thermoplastic matrices such as polyethylene has been largely employed to improve some of its properties. However, interaction between both components is a major issue so the presence of a coupling agent is usually necessary to increase the ...

Rheological and Thermal Properties of Blends of Recycled LDPE and Virgin LDPE

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Blends of recycled LDPE and LDPE were prepared by the twin-screw extruder at different ratios. Recycled LDPE was used as matrix in this work, LDPE was used to improve the properties of RLDPE. Thermal and rheological properties of the blends were carefully evaluated and compared with pure LDPE.
