Artificial weathering and accelerated heat ageing studies on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) produced via autoclave and tubular process technologies

open access: yes, 2021
Accelerated (artificial) weathering and thermal aging tests were performed to investigate the effectiveness of different formulations in reducing the UV/heat degradation extent for two low-density polyethylene types (LDPE-A, LDPE-T). The two LDPEs differ

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Effect of Zr-doped CaCu3Ti3.95Zr0.05O12 ceramic on the microstructure, dielectric properties, and electric field distribution of the LDPE composites

open access: yese-Polymers, 2023
Small-size CaCu3Ti3.95Zr0.05O12 enhanced dielectric constant of LDPE by 88.5% due to enhancing interfacial polarization included by ultrahigh interfacial area (∼3.0 × 105 m2) and played a prominent role in homogenize electric field distribution in LDPE ...

Hydrogel Thermostat Inspired by Photoprotective Foliage Using Latent and Radiative Heat Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Guided by Populus alba foliage, this hydrogel latent‐radiative thermostat (LRT) actively balances latent and radiative heat fluxes. An LRT switches solar reflectance, maintains high mid‐IR emissivity, and reversibly evaporates/regenerates water, while titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles toughen the film.
