Leach Rate Characterization of Solid Radioactive Waste Forms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Leach rates for a number of proposed radioactive waste forms have been measured. A neutron activation analysis technique has been used exclusively for these measurements. Leach rates as low as 10-9g/cm2d were easily determined. Problems associated with surface area determination, sample preparation and data interpretation are discussed.

An Optimized Method for Determination of Ionic-phase Rare Earth Elements by ICP-MS Using Ammonium Sulfate Leaching

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2018
BACKGROUND The accurate determination of ionic phase rare earths in ion-adsorption rare earths is of great significance for the evaluation of rare earth ore bodies. Ionic phase rare earths are adsorbed on clay minerals in the form of hydroxyl or hydrated

Impurity leaching rates of 1000 liter growth tanks [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This memo reports on the analysis of some recent measurements of solution impurity levels in the three KDP and one DKDP Pilot Production 1000 liter growth tanks (Tanks B, C, D, & F). Solution samples were taken on a weekly basis during recent crystal growth runs in each tank and were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy (ICP-ES).

Characterization of a Recyclate‐Based MgO‐Steel Composite As‐Sintered Inert Anode Candidate After Exposure to Cryolite Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon‐free inert anodes are essential for decarbonizing aluminum electrolysis. This study investigates a recyclate‐based MgO‐316L steel composite anode tested under galvanostatic Hall–Héroult conditions in cryolite at 1000°C. Microstructural analysis reveals selective MgO fluorination, spinel and oxide layer formation, electrolyte infiltration, and ...
