In Situ Growth of Cu2O-Coated Cu Aggregates on Wood and Bamboo for Efficient Mold Resistance

open access: yesSurfaces
Wood and bamboo products with log-term carbon storage, less energy consumption, and CO2 emission face the challenge of fungal infection. Their antifungal property can be enhanced by Cu-based nanoparticles. Herein, Cu2O-coated Cu (Cu2O@Cu) aggregates were

Leach Rate Characterization of Solid Radioactive Waste Forms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Leach rates for a number of proposed radioactive waste forms have been measured. A neutron activation analysis technique has been used exclusively for these measurements. Leach rates as low as 10-9g/cm2d were easily determined. Problems associated with surface area determination, sample preparation and data interpretation are discussed.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Study on Calcified Alkali Leaching of Vanadium-Extracted Tailings and Preparation of Barium Orthovanadate

open access: yesNanomaterials
While vanadium-extracted tailings contain valuable components, their utilization is difficult due to their high sodium content. In this work, a new oxygen-pressure calcification and alkaline leaching strategy to achieve barium orthovanadate vanadium ...

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Dual‐Salt Carbothermal Shock Strategy Enabling Ultrafast and Sustainable Regeneration of Spent LiFePO4 Cathode Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) accounts for over 50% of the global cathode market, underscoring the need for efficient recycling and regeneration. We propose a dual‐salt carbothermal shock (CTS) strategy using LiI and NaI to in situ repair Li vacancies.

Leaching of zinc from calcined smithsonite using sodium hydroxide

open access: yes, 2013
The processes of calcination and alkaline leaching were applied to treat a zinc oxide ore, smithsonite (ZnCO3). The phase evolution in the calcination was studied, as well as the effect factors on the leaching rate of Zn, such as calcination temperature,

Study on factors affecting rare earth leaching rate in acid leaching process of fly ash

open access: yesJournal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences, 2022
There is a large amount of enrichment of rare earth elements in Zhungeer coal and coal ash, making it possible to use fly ash as a source for industrial production of rare earth elements. In order to optimize the leaching process of rare earth elements in fly ash and increase the leaching rate, the circulating fluidized bed fly ash of Zhungeer Power ...
