Cathodic Protection of Lead Cable Sheath
Corrosion, 1959The paper describes the results of laboratory tests with gradient lead cathodes in environments of high pH level. By observation of the corrosion limit and corresponding potential it was possible to define the cathodic protection requirements for permanence of metallic lead as a function of the pH of the environment. The increment of cathodic potential

Does Vitamin C Intake Protect Against Lead Toxicity?
Nutrition Reviews, 2009Although several animal studies suggest a protective relationship between blood lead concentrations and ascorbic acid, there are inconclusive results regarding the beneficial effect of ascorbic acid on lead concentrations in human studies. Data from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey examined the association between ascorbic ...

PROTECTION BY LEAD NITRATE AGAINST CARBON TETRACHLORIDE HEPATOTOXICITY
Drug Metabolism and Disposition, 1975Pretreatment with lead nitrate of rats intoxicated with CCl4 exerted a significant protective effect against several damaging effects of the haloalkane. Liver microsomal lipid peroxidation, one of the earliest phenomena in CCl4 intoxication, was clearly inhibited by pretreating the rats with lead.

Protective role of trace metals in lead intoxication
Toxicology Letters, 1982Protective effect of copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) or cobalt (Co) against lead (Pb) toxicity in rats was investigated. Trace metal administration together with Pb decreased the hepatic and renal uptake of lead and reduced the Pb-induced inhibition of blood delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (delta-ALAD) activity.

Quercetin Protects Mouse Brain against Lead-Induced Neurotoxicity
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2013Quercetin (QE), the major bioflavonoid in the human diet, has been reported to have many benefits and medicinal properties. However, its protective effects against lead (Pb)-induced neurotoxicity have not been clarified. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of QE on neurotoxicity in mice exposed to Pb.

Role of Selenium in Protection against Lead Intoxication
Acta Pharmacologica et Toxicologica, 1983Abstract:The administration of selenium concomitantly with lead in rats restrained the lead induced enzymuria, proteinuria, enhanced urinary excretion of δ‐aminolevulinic acid, inhibition of the activities of certain renal enzymes, blood δ‐aminolevulinic acid dehydratase and blood, liver and kidney uptake of lead.

LEAD ALLOY ANODE FOR CATHODIC PROTECTION
Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, 1958Following the early cathodic protection work with zinc, and later magnesium, sacrificial anodes, there has been an increasing interest in the use of impressed current techniques. In the following article the author describes the method of operation of a corrosion product impressed current anode and, in particular, the formation of a conducting oxide ...

The protective action of lead compounds
Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, 1946AbstractIt has been shown that distilled water may be rendered non‐corrosive by contact with lend powder, litharge and red lead, whilst under the same conditions little or no inhibition was obtained from lead peroxide, lead sulphate, lead chromate, basic lead sulphate, basic lead carbonate, iron oxide and titanium oxide.
