Effects of nitrogen fertilization and nitrification inhibitor product on vegetative growth, production and oil quality in ‘Arbequina’ hedgerow and ‘Picual’ vase-trained orchards

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2017
Two experiments were carried out in olive orchards in the center of Spain over a three-year period. In this cold and dry area, growers traditionally apply large amounts of N with no experimental knowledge.

Simultaneous epidemic development of scald and net blotch on single leaf layers of a spring barley crop [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Background and objectives Two pathogens growing on the same leaf compete for the same resources, i.e. space and plant nutrients. This may lead to density dependent disease development.

Oakleaf: an S locus-linked mutation of Primula vulgaris that affects leaf and flower development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
•In Primula vulgaris outcrossing is promoted through reciprocal herkogamy with insect-mediated cross-pollination between pin and thrum form flowers. Development of heteromorphic flowers is coordinated by genes at the S locus.

Comparative Analysis Of Conventional Leaf Spring And Composite Leaf

open access: yes, 2015
A leaf spring is a simple form of spring, commonly used for the suspension in wheeled vehicles. It is also one of the oldest forms of spring. Sometimes referred to as a semielliptical l eaf spring (SELS) it takes the form of a slender ar c-shaped length of spring steel of rectangular cross section.

Genetic analysis of leaf development in cotton

open access: yesDevelopment, 1991
Abstract Leaf shape in cotton is regulated by the developmental age of the shoot and by several major genes that affect leaf lobing. The effect of these factors was investigated by allometric analysis, cell lineage analysis, and by studying the expression of the leaf shape mutation, Okra, in genetic mosaics.

Clonal analysis of leaf development in cotton

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, 1998
Clonal analysis has been used to describe the cellular parameters of leaf development in American Pima cotton (Gossypium barbadense). Sectors (clones) induced before leaf initiation indicate that the leaf primordium arises from ~100 cells on the flank of the shoot meristem.

Combining Machine Learning and Vis-NIR Spectroscopy to Estimate Nutrients in Fruit Tree Leaves

open access: yesHorticulturae
Traditional chemical analysis of plant tissue is time-consuming, costly, and poses risks due to exposure to toxic gases, highlighting the need for faster, low-cost, and safer alternatives.

Avaliação da incidência de antracnose, do desempenho e estado nutricional de variedades de mangueira, para cultivo orgânico, na região centro-norte do Estado de São Paulo Evaluation of anthracnose incidence, development and nutritional status of mango trees varieties for organic cultivation in north center region of São Paulo state

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Fruticultura, 2009
A mudança do perfil do consumidor, aliada aos riscos da contaminação por agrotóxicos, tem levado à busca de alternativas ecologicamente apropriadas para produção de frutas.

Temporary nutrient deficiency - a difficult case for diagnosis and prognosis by plant analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Plant analysis aims to either detect deficiency at the time of sampling (diagnosis) or predict its occurrence at a later stage of growth (prognosis). Its use is based on the presumption that the plant nutrient status will either be constant with plant ...

Oak Leaf Classification: An Analysis of Features and Classifiers

open access: yes2019 Scientific Meeting on Electrical-Electronics & Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science (EBBT), 2019
Automatic classification of trees from leaves is a popular computer vision/machine learning task and has important applications in monitoring of forest wealth. While the final aim is preparing an application, which is capable of visual signal processing and classification, in this paper we present a new oak leaf dataset and preliminary results for ...
