Network Topology Governs Photocatalytic Water Splitting in Organic Two‐Dimensional Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Network topology in organic two‐dimensional crystals (O2DCs) dictates the photocatalytic water splitting performance. Kagome‐lattice O2DCs exhibit strong electron‐hole mass asymmetry, spatially separated carriers, and longer recombination lifetimes, exceeding rhombic isomers.

Leaf appearance rate and final main stem leaf number as affected by temperature and photoperiod in cereals grown in Mediterranean environment

open access: yesItalian Journal of Agronomy, 2017
In the present study, a two-year field trial was carried out with the aim to evaluate daylength and air temperature effects on leaf appearance and related rates in two durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.), two bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and two ...

Unified Phase‐Field Framework for Antiferroelectric, Ferroelectric and Dielectric Phases: Application to HZO Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HfxZr1−xO2${\rm Hf}_x{\rm Zr}_{1-x}{\rm O}_2$ offers CMOS‐compatible nanoscale ferroelectricity yet suffers from a high Ec${\rm E}_c$ demanding large operating voltages. A unified phase‐field framework spanning AFE/FE/DE phases shows how FE grains soften neighboring AFE grains over λ$\lambda$ ≈$\approx$ 22–37 nm.

Modeling of Mulberry Shoot Elongation and Leaf Appearancein Field Conditions

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2005
To predict mulberry (Morus alba L.‘Shin-ichinose’) vegetative growth, I constructed shoot elongation and leaf appearance models for mulberry grown in field conditions.

Leaf Appearance Rate of Summer Squash as a Function of Thermal Time [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1995
Different planting dates were used to study the influence of thermal time on leaf appearance rate of four summer squash (Cucurbita pepo L.) cultivars. During the first year (1991), thermal time or growing degree days (GDD) were calculated using a base temperature of 8C and a ceiling temperature of 32C for several planting dates.

Bio‐Inspired Artificial Ionic Mechanoreceptor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A skin‐inspired artificial mechanoreceptor based on ionic interactions is presented for biomimetic tactile sensing. Pressure‐driven ionic redistribution within microfluidic channels generates a self‐powered electrical signal without external bias. The generated waveform exhibits mechanoreceptor‐like temporal features, including overshoot and undershoot,

Colour appearance descriptors for image browsing and retrieval

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, we focus on the development of whole-scene colour appearance descriptors for classification to be used in browsing applications. The descriptors can classify a whole-scene image into various categories of semantically-based colour ...

Advancing SafeWax, A Bio‐Inspired Superhydrophobic Coating, Toward Sustainable and Climate‐Resilient Crop Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study advances SafeWax, a bio‐inspired, fatty‐acids‐based superhydrophobic coating, by identifying an agriculturally compliant solvent and revealing how solvent‐controlled Fatty acid crystallization governs the coating's microscopic structure and performance.

Measuring Tiller Development and Mortality in Winter Wheat under Field Conditions

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences & Environment, 2019
Core Ideas Seeding rate is important for measuring phyllochron interval and maximum number leaf. As seeding rate increases, phyllochron interval increases; as seeding rate increases, maximum leaf number decreases.
