Morphogenetic, structural and production traits of marandu grass under nitrogen rates in Neo soil

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2021
Most sandy soils have low natural fertility and low levels of organic matter, making nitrogen (N) fertilization essential. Thus, five doses of N were applied (0, 75, 125, 175 and 225mg dm-³) in a randomized block design to evaluate the effects of ...

Modeling of Mulberry Shoot Elongation and Leaf Appearancein Field Conditions

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2005
To predict mulberry (Morus alba L.‘Shin-ichinose’) vegetative growth, I constructed shoot elongation and leaf appearance models for mulberry grown in field conditions.

Morphogenetic and structural characteristics of tillers of guinea grass of different age and grazing severities

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2011
The objective of this research was to evaluate the effects of tiller age on morphogenic and structural characteristics of guinea grass cv. Mombaca subjected to intermittent stocking and three stubble heights: 30 cm, 50 cm and 50-30 cm.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Productivity and morphological characteristics of buffel grass intercropped with butterfly pea under shade conditions

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2017
Forage production in the Brazilian semiarid region can be enhanced by irrigation and shading to maximize water use. We evaluated the productivity and morphological characteristics of buffel grass (Cenchrus ciliaris) intercropped with butterfly pea ...

Efeitos da adubação nitrogenada e de sistemas de manejo sobre a morfogênese de Lolium multiflorum Lam. e Paspalum urvillei Steud. em ambiente de várzea Effects of nitrogen fertilization and management systems on morphogenesis of Lolium multiflorum Lam. and Paspalum urvillei Steud. in a lowland area

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Substrate specificity of Burkholderia pseudomallei multidrug transporters is influenced by the hydrophilic patch in the substrate‐binding pocket

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.
