The rice leaf blast simulation model EPIBLAST
1993Rice blast, caused by Pyricularia oryzae, is one of the biggest constraints to stable rice production in most of the temperate regions and some tropical and subtropical countries. To minimize yield loss by blast disease, large efforts have been made to solve the blast problem.

Effect of leaf age on components of partial resistance in rice to leaf blast
Euphytica, 1992Ten rice genotypes were inoculated with a virulent isolate of Magnaporthe grisea to study the effect of leaf age on components of partial resistance, and evaluate associations between these components. The number of sporulating lesions per cm2 leaf declined with increase of leaf age in all genotypes.

Leaf blast spot detection method based on Linknet
Second Target Recognition and Artificial Intelligence Summit Forum, 2020This paper aims to solve the problem of automatic detection of rice leaf lesions in natural scenes using deep learning techniques. In this paper, the Linknet full convolutional network was built to train the segmentation model. The network compensates the lost spatial information in the feature extraction process through the short connection structure ...

Variation of leaf angle and incidence of rice blast disease
The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1982Blast, caused byPyricularia oryzaeCav., one of the major foliar diseases of rice, appears sometimes in a devastating form in the seedling stage. The angles subtended by leaves may affect the establishment of the pathogen. Ono (1965) observed that leaf angles of rice plants, among many other factors, influenced deposition of spores.

Leaf and Neck Blast Resistance in Tropical Lowland Rice Cultivars
Plant Disease, 1989The classification of neck blast resistance of intermediate and susceptible lines varied between trials, mostly due to differences in flowering date. The mean leaf blast values from the miniplot trials were positively correlated with the mean neck blast values from the lowland trials.

Genetic Analysis of Field Resistance to Leaf Blast in Rice
2001Resistance to rice blast can be classified into true resistance (qualitative resistance) and field resistance (quantitative resistance). True resistance is unstable and controlled by major genes that react specifically to different races of blast fungus. The breakdown of true resistance has often occurred and shocked rice breeders.
