Tomato leaf curl Yunnan virus-encoded C4 induces cell division through enhancing stability of Cyclin D 1.1 via impairing NbSKη -mediated phosphorylation in Nicotiana benthamiana

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2018
The whitefly-transmitted geminiviruses induce severe developmental abnormalities in plants. Geminivirus-encoded C4 protein functions as one of viral symptom determinants that could induce abnormal cell division.

Dielectrophoresis Tutorial: Inspired by Hatfield's 1924 Patent and Boltzmann's Theory and Experiments of 1874

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The first patent to describe dielectrophoresis (DEP) as a means and process to separate particles from a mixture was granted by the US Patent Office to Henry Stafford Hatfield in 1924. The novel methods of sample preparation and designs of electrode geometry covered by the patent's disclosures and claims describe the basis for most present‐day

Validation of molecular markers for multiple disease resistance in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2019
Marker assisted breeding has been successfully used for selecting disease resistance by identifying genetic markers linked to resistance genes/allele. In tomato, availability of molecular markers linked to genes conferring resilience against Tomato leaf ...

The viral content ratio between abdomen and head is informative of the relative efficiency with which Bemisia tabaci populations transmit begomoviruses. [P.12] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Begomoviruses (family Geminiviridae) are transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci in a circulative non propagative manner. B. tabaci is a species complex composed of at least 24 morphocryptic species which differ in host range, insecticide resistance ...

Transcriptional reprogramming caused by the geminivirus Tomato yellow leaf curl virus in local or systemic infections in Nicotiana benthamiana

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2019
Viruses have evolved to create a cellular environment permissive for viral replication in susceptible hosts. Possibly both enabling and resulting from these virus-triggered changes, infected hosts undergo a dramatic transcriptional reprogramming, the ...

Leaf-Curl in Cotton and Other Plants [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1932
IN a recent communication1 Mr. Mathur gives an account of his observations on the leaf-curl in garden zinnias, caused by Bemisia gossypiperda Misra and Lamba, at Dehra Dun. The title of the letter suggests that the virus causing leaf-crinkle in cottons in the Sudan is the same that causes leaf-crinkle in zinnias at Dehra Dun.
