Aiding optimal plant–environment interaction would favor plant resilience against environmental constrains including salt stress. We test the hypothesis that 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) primes grapevine’s salt tolerance in vines (Vitis vinifera) received ...

Manipulation of light quality is an effective tool to regulate photosynthetic capacity and fruit antioxidant properties of Solanum lycopersicum L. cv. ‘Microtom’ in a controlled environment [PDF]
Light quality plays an essential role in setting plant structural and functional traits, including antioxidant compounds. This paper aimed to assess how manipulating the light spectrum during growth may regulate the photosynthetic activity and fruit ...

Cotton leaf gas exchange responses to irradiance and leaf aging
Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) net photosynthetic rate (PN) decreased with leaf age and low irradiance, and the interaction of these factors might lead to decreased yields mainly in crops with a high plant density. Shade decreased leaf gas exchange, mainly in young leaves, which did not recover after exposure to an increasing irradiance.

Gas exchange and leaf area requirement in tall ‘Prata’ banana
The objective of this study was to evaluate the gas exchange and leaf area requirement for yield of six tall ‘Prata’ banana genotypes, under semi-arid conditions. The genotypes ‘Pacovan’ (AAB), ‘Pacovan Ken’ (AAAB), ‘Preciosa’ (AAAB), ‘Japira’ (AAAB), ‘PV79-34’ (AAAB) and ‘Garantida’ (AAAB) (four tetraploid hybrids and one triploid cultivar) were ...

Leaf gas exchange in species of the Theobroma genus
Species of the Theobroma genus are primarily known by their commercially valuable seeds, especially, T. cacao is one of the most important tropical perennial crops. Beside T. grandiflorum, T. bicolor, and T. angustifolium, T. cacao is the only species of the genus that has been better studied to obtain physiologically relevant information.

Effects of Mannose on Photosynthetic Gas Exchange in Spinach Leaf Discs [PDF]
When mannose is provided in the transpiration stream to spinach (Spinacia oleracea) leaf discs, a series of specific and nonspecific changes occur in CO(2) and H(2)O vapor exchange as a function of feeding time. The initial increases in apparent photosynthesis and transpiration are nonspecific effects due to osmotic changes leading to passive stomatal ...
