The Australian giant wood moth (Endoxyla cinereus) feeds within the galls of scale insects (Apiomorpha) before transitioning into its wood‐boring eucalypt larval phase. This transitionary phase may be key to its multi‐year development, at the end of which it can produce over 100 000 eggs.
