Summary Streptocarpus aylae T.J.Edwards, a spectacular, rosette forming herbaceous perennial from cliffs of the Msikaba River in Pondoland, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa is illustrated and discussed. The species is known from only two sites and is highly localised, growing in humus rich cracks and crevices on sandstone cliffs.

Actia interrupta is an important larval tachinid parasitoid during low‐density populations of the eastern spruce budworm. In the late 1980s during the outbreak collapse, Meteorus trachynotus was initially the most important species, but was replaced by A. interrupta. Host patch size and density had no impact on the parasitism rates by A.

Counteracting selective pressures: Museum collections show declining Aglais io wing size
Using museum specimens, we found that forewing and hindwing length of Aglais io declined significantly between 1953 and 1984 across three north‐western German populations. The observed long‐term reduction in wing size in Aglais io is potentially linked to environmental change, with consistent patterns across all studied localities.
