Real-time evaluation of corn leaf water content based on the electrical property of leaf

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2015
A detector of crop leaf EC based on the Four-Electrode method was developed.High correlation was obtained between the electrical property and water content. The correlation coefficients had a downward trend as the growth period advanced. The relative water content (RWC) and leaf EC had the best correlation.

Measurements of leaf water content using terahertz radiation

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1999
A novel technique for the noninvasive continuous measurement of leaf water content is presented. The technique is based on transmission measurements of terahertz radiation with a null-balance quasi-optical transmissometer operating at 94 GHz. A model for the propagation of terahertz radiation through leaves is presented.

Leaf Area and Absolute Leaf Water Content

Annals of Botany, 1970
Leaf area was found to be an almost linear function of absolute leaf water content (that is fresh weight- dry weight) for several dicotyledonous genotypes. A closely similar relationship held for a given genotype in the same rooting medium despite increasing plant size and different treatments which resulted in leaves which were sometimes ...

Research on wheat leaf water content based on machine vision

Cluster Computing, 2018
This paper is based on Matlab software to predict the water content of wheat leaves. The object of study are 100 wheat leaves which collected in the field, the moisture content of the blade was measured by drying, preprocess the image with Matlab so as to denoise the image, segmentation of blade images by image two valued operation of Otsu method then,

Measurement of leaf relative water content by infrared reflectance

Remote Sensing of Environment, 1987
From basic considerations and Beer's law, a leaf water content index incorporating reflectances of wavelengths from 0.76 to 0.90 microns and from 1.55 to 1.75 microns was developed that relates leaf reflectance to leaf relative water content. For the leaf succulent, Agave deserti, the leaf water content index was not significantly different from the ...

A leaf-mounted thermal sensor for the measurement of water content

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2012
Abstract We present a microfabricated thermal sensor for the real-time measurement of the water content of plant leaves. The device consists of a thin-film micro-heater which induces a temperature gradient within a leaf to which it is attached. Temperature differences (Δ T ) between two thin-film thermocouples spaced 50 μm and 160 μm from the heater ...
