Synthetic Leak Data Generation Using Variational Autoencoders to Address Data Imbalance in Acoustic Emission-Based Pipe Leak Detection

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A synthetic data generation method is proposed to mitigate data imbalance in pipeline leak detection using acoustic emission (AE) sensors. Collecting sufficient AE signals in the leak state is challenging due to the rarity of leaks and safety concerns ...

Pressure Change Leak Detection Based on Lagrange Interpolation Formula

open access: yesSICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration, 2017
The pressure change method of leak testing has the serious disadvantage of being susceptible to ambient temperature change. Two or more successive leak tests are typically performed to eliminate the error caused by such change.

Enhanced Leak Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A key requirement for Veeder-Root’s Enhanced Leak Detection System is that it be able to test in situ for the presence of leaks at gasoline dispensing facilities.

Leak localization in water distribution networks using pressure and data-driven classifier approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Leaks in water distribution networks (WDNs) are one of the main reasons for water loss during fluid transportation. Considering the worldwide problem of water scarcity, added to the challenges that a growing population brings, minimizing water losses ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Review of Water Leak Detection Methods in Smart Building Applications

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
In recent years, the identification of water leak detection methods has entered a wide range of fields. Pipeline failures in water distribution networks lead to the loss of a considerable amount of high-quality water.

A pressure-based method for monitoring leaks in a pipe distribution system: a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Leakage from a pipe network possibly poses significant environmental destruction and economic losses due to the release of potential energy. While the pipe network may be planned and constructed to satisfy the requirements of rigorous conditions, it is ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Leak Detection and Location Based on ISLMD and CNN in a Pipeline

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The key to leak detection and location in water supply pipelines is signal denoising and feature extraction. First, in this paper, an improved spline-local mean decomposition (ISLMD) is proposed to eliminate noise interference.
