Prognostic Value of C - reactive Protein and Procalcitonin Levels in Predicting Anastomotic Leakage after Colorectal Resection in Mazandaran Province

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2021
Background and purpose: Colorectal resection is used for various diseases and leakage in an anastomosis is one of its complications. Some studies confirmed the predictive effects of C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin markers leakage in ...

Fast Leakage Assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We describe a fast technique for performing the computationally heavy part of leakage assessment, in any statistical moment (or other property) of the leakage samples distributions. The proposed technique outperforms by orders of magnitude the approach presented at CHES 2015 by Schneider and Moradi.

Confound-leakage: confound removal in machine learning leads to leakage

open access: yesGigaScience, 2022
Abstract Background Machine learning (ML) approaches are a crucial component of modern data analysis in many fields, including epidemiology and medicine. Nonlinear ML methods often achieve accurate predictions, for instance, in personalized medicine, as they are capable of modeling complex ...

Coarse-Grained Effective Hamiltonian via the Magnus Expansion for a Three-Level System

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
Quantum state processing is one of the main tools of quantum technologies. While real systems are complicated and/or may be driven by non-ideal control, they may nevertheless exhibit simple dynamics approximately confined to a low-energy Hilbert subspace.

Profile Design and Leakage Characteristics of Scroll Compressor with Trapezoidal Cross Section

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2022
An integrated thermal management system for an electric vehicle requires a scroll compressor with a large displacement that runs under multiple working conditions and high loads.

Modified Supporting Materials to Fabricate Form Stable Phase Change Material with High Thermal Energy Storage

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Thermal energy storage (TES) is vital to the absorption and release of plenty of external heat for various applications. For such storage, phase change material (PCM) has been considered as a sustainable energy material that can be integrated into a ...

Monitoring Scheme for the Detection of Hydrogen Leakage from a Deep Underground Storage. Part 2: Physico-Chemical Impacts of Hydrogen Injection into a Shallow Chalky Aquifer

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This paper presents the results of an experiment to simulate a sudden and brief hydrogen leak from a potential deep geological storage site. A 5 m3 volume of groundwater was extracted, saturated with hydrogen, and then reinjected into the aquifer ...

Data Leakage Quantification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The detection and handling of data leakages is becoming a critical issue for organizations. To this end, data leakage solutions are usually employed by organizations to monitor network traffic and the use of portable storage devices. These solutions often produce a large number of alerts, whose analysis is time-consuming and costly for organizations ...

Automated Assessment of Peristomal Skin Discoloration and Leakage Area Using Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesFrontiers in Artificial Intelligence, 2020
For people living with an ostomy, development of peristomal skin complications (PSCs) is the most common post-operative challenge. A visual sign of PSCs is discoloration (redness) of the peristomal skin often resulting from leakage of ostomy output under

Asymmetric gate induced drain leakage and body leakage in vertical MOSFETs with reduced parasitic capacitance

open access: yes, 2006
Vertical MOSFETs, unlike conventional planar MOSFETs, do not have identical structures at the source and drain, but have very different gate overlaps and geometric configurations.
