Leakage Characteristics of Rotating Stepped Labyrinth Seals

TRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1985
In this paper, the fundamental performances on the stepped labyrinth seal with various thicknesses and positions of the fin were investigated experimentally in both the stationary and rotating states. As a result, it was found that the leakage in the downward stepped type was less than that in the upward stepped type.

We report a robust process for fabrication of surface-gated Si/SiGe quantum dots (QDs) with an integrated superconducting single-electron transistor (S-SET) charge sensor. A combination of a deep mesa etch and AlOx backfill is used to reduce gate leakage.
