Numerical analysis of the cavitating flow in an axial flow waterjet pump with special emphasis on the tip leakage flow and tip leakage vortex

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2022
Abstract Due to the structural design requirements, tip leakage flow is a common phenomenon in the field of axial flow rotating machinery. The tip leakage flow interacts with the mainstream and induce complex tip leakage vortex. When the local pressure drops to the saturation pressure, cavitation may occur in flow passage and the vortex ...

Vibrations of an Axisymmetric Body in a Cavitating Leakage Flow

open access: yesJSME international journal. Ser. C, Dynamics, control, robotics, design and manufacturing, 1991
This paper presents experimental studies of vibrations of an axisymmetric body in a cavitating leakage flow. The experimental passage is a narrow annular parallel passage. The effect on the characteristics of vibrations and the flow pattern in the passage were evaluated by changing the width of the passage, the downstream pressure and so forth.

Tip Leakage Flow in Axial Compressors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Turbomachinery, 1990
Experimental measurements in a linear cascade with tip clearance are complemented by numerical solutions of the three-dimensional Navier–Stokes equations in an investigation of tip leakage flow. Measurements reveal that the clearance flow, which separates near the entry of the tip gap, remains unattached for the majority of the blade chord when the tip

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tip-leakage-flow excited unsteadiness and associated control [PDF]

open access: yes
Tip leakage flow in turbomachinery inherently generates intense unsteady features, named self-excited unsteadiness, which significantly affects the operating stability, aerodynamic efficiency, and noise but has not been well understood.

Characterization of Unsteady Leakage Flow in an Axial Fan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Turbomachinery, Propulsion and Power, 2023
The present work reports an experimental study of the leakage flow in a low-speed fan ring. Existing 2D Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) measurements taken in a meridional plane in front of the rotor gap have been further processed and analyzed by means ...
