Numerical Analysis on Pipeline Leakage Characteristics for Incompressible Flow

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2019
Systematic Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations on incompressible water pipe flow with leakage were conducted in the present study. The aim is to provide the understanding of how different parameters, including the leakage pipe diameter, inlet mass flow rate, and main pipe length, affect the flow phenomena at the vicinity of the leakage ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

TIP LEAKAGE FLOWS IN TURBINES

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2006
Mechanisms of formation of the tip leakage over shrouded and unshrouded rotor blades are described in the paper. The loss diagrams for these two types of leakage in a wide range of cascade inlet and outlet flow angles are also plotted. They are obtained in a theoretical way from a model of stream mixing with the help of simplifying assumptions ...

Performance Enhancement of Tin Chloride‐Incorporated Ferroelectric Polymer‐Based Artificial Synapse for Hardware Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a highly efficient ferroelectric artificial synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor and SnCl2‐inserted P(VDF‐TrFE) gate dielectric layer. This FeFET significantly improved the synaptic performance due to the ion‐dipole interaction.
