Leakage Inductance Reduction Using the Interleaved Winding Technique in High-Frequency Toroidal Transformers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology
High leakage inductance in transformers is the main cause of excessive voltage spikes and ringing waveforms in dc-dc converters. Therefore, reducing leakage inductance is important in the design of power electronic devices.

Parameter Selection Guidelines for Direct-on-Line Permanent Magnet Generators Contemplating Fault-Ride-Through Capability

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Direct-on-line (DOL) driven permanent-magnet generators (PMSGs) are often applied in small-scale hydropower plants (< 10 MW). The Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631 defines the boundary conditions to operate these generators in parallel with the ...

An Integrated Transformer Design With a Center-Core Air-Gap for DAB Converters

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, an integrated transformer design methodology for dual-active-bridge (DAB) converters, which basically utilize leakage inductance so as to substitute a cumbersome inductor in the conventional DAB converters, is newly proposed.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
