The Analysis and Comparison of Leakage Inductance in Different Winding Arrangements for Planar Transformer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The coupling of the windings can be easily increased by using multiply stacked planar windings connection. Interleaving is a well-known technique used to reduce leakage inductance and minimize high-frequency winding losses.

An Integrated Transformer Design With a Center-Core Air-Gap for DAB Converters

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, an integrated transformer design methodology for dual-active-bridge (DAB) converters, which basically utilize leakage inductance so as to substitute a cumbersome inductor in the conventional DAB converters, is newly proposed.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

New Hybrid Model for Evaluating the Frequency-Dependent Leakage Inductance of a Variable Inductance Transformer (Vit)

open access: yes, 2022
Skin and proximity effects can cause a significant drop in the effective leakage inductance of a transformer when the operating frequency is increased.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
