Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Analytical Transformer Leakage Inductance Modelling

open access: yes, 2023
Photovoltaics, railway systems, cancer treatment, and particle accelerators are only a few examples of applications that include a power electronic converter. Many of these converter topologies are galvanically isolated, i.e. they contain a transformer as key element. The transformer leakage inductance significantly affects the converter's operation as

Electrical Machine Winding Performance Optimization by Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Algorithm

open access: yesEnergies
The present work aims to optimize the magnetomotive force and the end-winding leakage inductance from a discrete distribution of conductors in electrical machines through multi-objective particle swarm heuristics.

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Frequency Dependent Model of Leakage Inductance for Magnetic Components

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2012
Theoretical methods for the calculation of winding losses with respect to frequency have been well documented, but the variation in leakage inductance of magnetic components due to frequency has been less well addressed. In this paper Dowell’s well-known

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Analysis on Leakage Inductance and Winding Resistance of High Frequency Toroidal Transformer with Interleaved Winding and Litz Wire

open access: yesJurnal EECCIS (Electrics, Electronics, Communications, Controls, Informatics, Systems)
High-frequency transformers offered numerous advantages but also presented several challenges. As frequency increased, the dimensions of the transformer decreased, making parasitic parameters more dominant and unavoidable.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Design of LLC Magnetically Integrated Transformer Based on Nanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Composite Leakage Core

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems
Magnetic integration technology can reduce the printed circuit board (PCB) size of inductor-inductor-capacitor (LLC) converters. However, conventional methods for adjusting leakage inductance by modifying the transformer's air gap exhibit low sensitivity

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...
