Three-phase modular permanent magnet brushless machine for torque boosting on a downsized ICE vehicle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The paper describes a relatively new topology of 3-phase permanent magnet (PM) brushless machine, which offers a number of significant advantages over conventional PM brushless machines for automotive applications, such as electrical torque boosting at ...

CSF Monoamine Metabolites and Cognitive Trajectory in Early Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Imaging and postmortem studies indicate that abnormalities in monoaminergic neurotransmission contribute to cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, it remains uncertain if cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) monoamine metabolites can serve as biomarkers of cognitive decline in early PD.

Circuit theory for decoherence in superconducting charge qubits

open access: yes, 2005
Based on a network graph analysis of the underlying circuit, a quantum theory of arbitrary superconducting charge qubits is derived. Describing the dissipative elements of the circuit with a Caldeira-Leggett model, we calculate the decoherence and ...

Dimethyl Fumarate, But Not Rituximab, Reduces Serum GFAP Levels and PIRMA in Relapsing–Remitting MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP) levels are believed to reflect mainly acute and chronic disease processes in multiple sclerosis (MS), respectively. In this study, we investigated whether dimethyl fumarate (DMF) and rituximab (RTX) differentially affect these biomarkers.

Design of LLC Magnetically Integrated Transformer Based on Nanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Composite Leakage Core

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems
Magnetic integration technology can reduce the printed circuit board (PCB) size of inductor-inductor-capacitor (LLC) converters. However, conventional methods for adjusting leakage inductance by modifying the transformer's air gap exhibit low sensitivity

Anti‐CD19 CAR T Cells in Autoimmune Encephalitis: Inflammation Controlled, Neurodegeneration Unchecked?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Just recently, successful chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy was reported in the first patient with refractory, anti‐diacylglycerol lipase alpha (DAGLA) antibody‐mediated autoimmune encephalitis, achieving partial clinical remission.

Comparative Analysis in Single-Phase Induction Motors: Analytical, Numerical, and Load Tests

open access: yesIEEE Access
Single-phase induction machines have two windings in the stator to produce a rotating field: a main winding and an auxiliary winding. The stator slot leakage inductance varies with the position of the coils within the slot.

Defining and Computing Equivalent Inductances of Gapped Iron Core Reactors

open access: yes, 2011
The paper revisits the fundamental definitions and explores computational alternatives of equivalent inductances of gapped iron core reactors. Unlike in a transformer, the physical meaning of component inductances of a reactor is subject to uncertainty ...

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.
